Music
I began playing music at the age of 6 & my journey into the world of professional music-making began while studying clarinet performance at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Clarinet: Over the last 25 years I have worked with all the major professional orchestras in Ireland and Scotland, including the RTE Concert Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, the Belfast Ensemble, and as Principal clarinet with the Orchestra of Opera Northern Ireland. Harp: I enjoy a very special relationship with the harp, one borne out of a personal interest in my family name, & in the cultural heritage of my homeland. The harp has enabled me to express myself in new ways, & in a different musical language. As well as using the harp to enhance my storytelling, I also perform at a wide range of events including weddings & conferences. I also work regularly in therapeutic & healthcare settings. |
Most recently I've performed at the Stendhal Festival, the Red Sails Festival, the YARN Storytelling Festival, the Newry Arts Festival, & the Fiddler's Green Festival. In 2024 I received support from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland & the Department for Communities, which enabled me to purchase a beautiful new harp.
