Stories
Who doesn't love a good story?
Stories have been the heartbeat of families & communities since the dawn of humanity. Storytellers in cultures all over the world, including our own, have entertained, educated, & sparked the imaginations of their audiences for thousands of years. Stories are a kind of 'social currency' - they help bring us closer together, & they enable us to understand one another & the world around us. There is something magical about a well-told story which is undiminished even in the 21st century. Despite being a performer for most of my life, I'm still particularly moved by the way that people of all ages naturally respond to stories. I have performed at local as well as International storytelling festivals, & I tell stories for the Armstrong Storytelling Trust. |
I also perform regularly in private & corporate settings; using the sound of the harp & other instruments to enhance my storytelling. I find our mythology, folklore, & landscape a constant source of inspiration. This year I'm delighted to be involved in producing a new work in words & music for the Armstrong Storytelling Trust. This will be premiered at the Glens Storytelling Festival in October 2024. |
'What a fabulous story. Love the musical interludes ... perfectly done!' 'Simply beautiful telling' |
'Outstanding Storytelling' 'Anne's music and storytelling were wonderful' |
'Anne had the audience hooked on every note and every word with a magical mix of music, culture & heritage that none of us have had the joy to participate in before' |
As well as working on my story-telling shows, this year I launched a ghost-story tour around Rathfriland County Down. It is result of years of research into the incredible history, mythology, and folklore of the area - & it's great fun. Find out more by clicking the button below!
