Workshops
There is nothing better
than seeing someone 'light up' as they begin to unlock their own creativity, or in response to live music. I believe that music can enhance everyone's well-being, & I have seen the enormous benefits that it brings at first hand. Human beings are innate communicators, but there are many different forms of communication! Music enables people to connect in non-verbal ways, & enables shared physical & emotional experiences. |
I use music as a tool to enhance things like: self-regulation, non-verbal communication, listening skills, concentration, relaxation, co-ordination, & good breathing. It also helps to build confidence & support good teamwork.
I adapt my methods to suit the needs of each individual or group. I work regularly performing & leading workshops in healthcare & community settings, schools & in residential homes. I enable a wide range of people to experience & enjoy music & share music-making. |
I also offer coaching for clarinettists who are ready to take their playing further. I have a particular interest in helping younger musicians who want to enter the profession, & 'returnees' who want to experience the benefits of playing a wind instrument.
As an Associate of the Ulster Orchestra I help to deliver their flagship education programme Crescendo, & in 2022 I joined a team of independent artists working for the leading NI Charity ArtsCare. |
